Oh, what the Hell.

The second printing of Detective Comics #854 has a way better cover.

I refuse to blow more money on something I already have just because it looks prettier, but dagnabit. That's the sort of thing I'd stick on my wall as a poster. If, you know. I were still in college.*

Not that the first one was bad, not at all, but this one has THE QUESTION (and an inexplicable lightning motif...). I'm shaking my fist in a disgruntled manner.

* I may buy it anyway. It's pretty, and this week I don't have a lot of pull titles. And one day I fully intend to have a comic wall or something, so... it could come in handy. Right? Right!

  2. Aw, that looks awesome, must resist... the Question suit and the cape are done in washes... bad art geek, resist unnecessary purchase!

  3. The Question's costume looks very neat here. Does she usually dress like this, or as she has so far in Detective Comics?

I really liked Montoya on the Batman animated series, and liked The Question at least as much on Justice Leauge, but every time I've seen Montoya as The Question so far, she's seemed more hard boiled or casual than poised or mysterious.

  4. Actually, in Detective Comics she hasn't dressed like this so far. I think it's a throwback to Vic Sage's costume. She didn't dress like this in Crime Bible either, that I can remember. She's got the Fedora (of course) but usually a tank top and jeans along with a jacket. I don't know if this is how she dressed in Final Crisis, but the few issues I read with her in them (mostly from "Revelations") also didn't have the suit-and-tie look. I think it's mainly an homage.
